Torv Tues Drop

There's only one goal on Tuesdays... Torva.

Join the clan for our weekly Nex mass as we team up to hunt Torva, chase uniques, and enjoy an evening of group PvM. Whether you're learning Nex or already an experienced gamer, everyone is welcome.

📜 Event Rules 📜

• If our team exceeds 6 players, we'll be using crossbows only.

• All unique drops are FFA (Free For All).

• We begin killing Nex promptly at 8:00 PM, so we recommend getting your kill count beforehand.

• Running late? No problem! You're welcome to join the mass at any point during the event.

🛡️Recommended Gear Setups🛡️

wiki

The setups below are designed to give you a solid starting point for Nex and can be adjusted based on your budget and comfort level. Don't feel like you need to match them exactly. Downgrading gear is perfectly acceptable as long as you're bringing the essentials. Armadyl brews are highly recommended if you have access to them, but regular brews and restores work just fine as well. If you're using a special attack weapon, Surge, Lightbearer, and Death Charge are all excellent additions to maximize your special attack uptime. No matter which setup you choose, Thralls are always recommended.

Minimum Setup

Torv Tues Min

This is an example of a bunch of random gear you could bring to Torva Tuesday. Refer to the wiki picture for specifics but this is just to show you that we don't care what you bring. As long as you have a crossbow, ruby enchanted bolts, and your best magic defense you can join! This setup provides everything you need to comfortably participate in the event, and many of the individual pieces can be upgraded or downgraded based on the gear you have available while still remaining effective. Be aware, Nex targets players with the worst defensive stats more often than those with better defense, so you will be at a slight disadvantage!

Melee Setup (Pre Nex Items)

pre nex melee

This setup is designed for players who haven't yet obtained any Nex uniques. It provides excellent melee DPS using gear that's obtainable before Nex, making it a great stepping stone while you work towards upgrades like Torva and other endgame equipment. Individual pieces can be upgraded as you obtain better gear. Twisted bow and seeker arrows instead of ACB if you have. Please note that this setup is only used (and optional) when our team size is six players or fewer. For larger teams, we'll be using our ranged setups instead.

Quick Nex guide for dumbies

Nex has 5 phases: Smoke, Shadow, Blood, Ice, and Zaros. You may just hear them referred to as P1, P2, P3, P4, and final. Each phase will last for 20% before you must go hit the respective minion in the corner. You can go up to 5% past this threshhold before Nex becomes immune to damage.

Each phase rotates between two different special attacks and a set amount of autos in between.

Nex attacks every 4 ticks, but stepping underneath of her the tick before she would have attacked constantly delays her to attack every 5 ticks instead. Since you are using a 5 tick weapon, getting on this cycle is 0 dps loss, and 20% damage mitigation. It is not required to know how to do this, but ideally you watch people do it and learn over time. This is one of many reasons why on specific phases we all go into melee range even when we are ranging.

Nex was recently updated to make killing her a little more predictable and less damaging. If everyone is in melee range, and nex melee's, she will always melee 3 times in a row. This allows you to pray melee when she melee's ANYONE in the group. However, if ANYONE is not in melee distance of nex, there is a chance she mages them instead, and on 4/5 phases her mage/range attack hits EVERYONE. For this reason, on phase 1, 4, and 5, everyone is asked to stand next to nex to help the team take less damage.

All minions were given negative -2 flat armor so blowpipe got a lot better here.

Nex swaps her targeting on a randomized system that prioritizes players furthest away from her (still within her attack range) and upon ties of distance, she will have higher odds picking players with worse defensive stats.

Each section will go into slightly more detail below:

Smoke phase (P1)

In this phase you pray MAGE.

Nex has two special attacks: Cough and Charge

For cough, nex targets either the player farthest away, or in the state of a tie, the lower defence (worse gear essentially)

When coughed, nex drains the level associated with your highest offensive bonuses. This behaves like burn at olm where standing next to or on top of your teammate spreads the cough. Please spread out! Slayer helmet cuts this effect in half. In large teams, since it is hard to spread out, a designated cough tank will tank the first cough alone on a side with a slayer helmet while everyone else can safely stand around nex in melee range.

For nex's charge special she looks down a specific path saying "THERE IS" and all players must rotate to another path before she charges and says "NO ESCAPE"

You can go attack the first minion at 80% of Nex's HP. In smaller teams, it is preferred to get closer to 75% since p2 can be much slower and more annoying/difficult then p1.

Blowpipe/Tbow/or STAB the minion

Shadow phase (P2)

For this phase pray RANGE. This phase, nex deals ranged damage to you based on how far away you are from her, so everyone stands far away. When Nex charges up an alley towards you, it is your responsibility to reset her by walking under her as she gets to the end of the alley. Sometimes you must "dance" with her a few ticks before she resets (Stay under as she tries to get out from under you). If done successfully, this will reset Nex to the middle of the arena, and allow everyone to safely resume max ranging her. It is very imporant to NOT drag Nex anywhere near the second minion.

Nex has two special attacks: Lawnmower and shadow

For lawnmower she shouts "Embrace darkness!" and then constantly hits you 15-20 per tick while next to you, so stay away!

For Shadow, she shouts "Fear the shadow" and places a shadow under your feet. Just move off of it to avoid all damage.

At 60% you can go hit the minion. The first person there will be the minion tank. The minion uses mage damage and hits pretty hard, so ideally you pray mage and step out of range of nex entirely. If your team messes up and drags nex towards you in this corner, you should run away. Taking a close range nex hit off prayer during this phase could 2 shot you. Everyone hitting the minion this phase with short range weaponry is still expected to try and watch nex and still go for the reset when she charges towards you. You can also learn how to get out of range of nex so she never targets you.

This minion is really weak to range. BP/tbow

Blood phase (p3)

For this phase pray MAGE. This is the only phase Nex has single target magic attacks. However, they have an AOE splash on them so do not stand next to each other or on top of each other. In small teams you still stand melee, but in our mini masses just spread out and don't worry about it for this phase.

Nex has two specials, blood reavers and ancient godsword spec

If you glow red (also a chat message appears in your chat and a sound effect plays), run as far away from Nex as you can and make sure you're still praying Mage. When you stop glowing or see the message in your chat that it's over you can come back safely.

For blood reavers, nex becomes invunerable for a short amount of time and heals all the damage you deal to her during this time. She spawns bloodreavers that heal you for 50% of the damage dealt to them, are a good source of death charge, and heal nex for HP based on their HP when she absorbs them. Killing them is great for keeping up your HP and supplies.

The minion will be available at 40% and is weak to BP/Tbow/Slash

Ice phase (p4)

For this phase, pray MAGE. Everyone goes back into melee range for this phase, since her mage auto attacks are AOE again and her melee is single target. However, in large team sizes I would not recommend swapping to melee pray when she melee's, not because she stops meleeing 3 times in a row this phase (she still does), but because if anyone at all in the mass isn't in melee range she has a chance to mage instead. Normally this would just be a bit of damage, however, this phase if you take a magic attack off prayer, you are frozen. This is especially bad because of her special attacks.

Nex shouts "contain this" and all players must step away out of melee range of nex, or you will be hit large amounts of damage and your prayer will be taken off. If you know you are going to get hit by this because you are stuck or frozen, range pray reduces the damage, just don't forget to swap back top protect from magic!

Nex shouts "Die now, in a prison of ice" and disables the prayer of one player, and surrounds them with ice so they cannot move. It is everyones responsibility to free them. Equip your highest accuracy stab or crush weapon (DWH, elder maul, fang) OR take off your weapon and kick the ice prison to free your teammate.

At 20% you can hit the minion. This minion also freezes you at random even while praying mage, so do not stand next to Nex.

BP or Tbow the minion

Zaros phase (p5/final)

For this phase, everyone should run back into melee range. Nex either mages you or melees you this phase, however, if you are praying melee while she mages you, you can swap to mage before it lands for 50% mitigation. 90% of the time this phase (assuming everyone is in melee range of the boss) Nex will use 1 magic attack and then 3 melee attacks and then repeat. The 3 melee attacks are guaranteed once she melee's once as long as everyone is in melee range, but the 1 magic attack could be many magic attacks in a row. This is just the most likely pattern and predicting it successfully helps a lot with keeping up health. Another strategy is to just always camp protect from magic until she has melee'd at least once, switch for 2 melee attacks, and then repeat.

Nex will swap between soulsplit and protect from melee. Range camping final phase is much more relaxed for this reason, but also slower. Ideally, you have a twisted bow to swap to when ruby bolts are no longer very effective, but it is not required.

When nex dies she does a large aoe attack so you should run away before collecting your Torva!
